About
The Office for Student Organizations, Leadership & Involvement (SOLI) offers a variety of free, staff-led workshops for the UW-Madison community to build their leadership skills. Wisconsin Leadership Education and Development (WI-LEAD) Workshops help student leaders build sustainable organizations by developing skills using the UW-Madison Leadership Framework; students can either attend one of our monthly workshops or request a workshop. All available workshops are described on this page.
RSO Accreditation
All WI-LEAD Workshops are RSO Accreditation approved events. Attending a WI-LEAD Workshop meets Requirement #2. For more information, please visit the RSO Accreditation website.

Intro to the Leadership Framework
Join this WI-LEAD workshop to learn how to use the UW-Madison Leadership Framework! By using the 3 values and 7 competencies from the UW-Madison Leadership framework, participants will explore risks and opportunities for implementing organizational change and strategies to create sustainable progress within their organization.

Unlock your leadership potential! Discover your strengths and create powerful personal and organizational action plans. Join this WI-LEAD Workshop to better understand personal leadership motivation, strengths, and challenges.

Decision-Making
How are decisions made in groups? How is work delegated across a team? What works best for your group? Find the answers to these questions and more by attending this WI-LEAD workshop! In this workshop, participants will engage in activities examining different decision-making models. Discussions will include decision-making best practices, mediating conflict, delegation, and participative leadership strategies.

Request a WI-LEAD Workshop

- Please request workshops at least 3 weeks in advance.
- Workshops are available to UW-Madison Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), student employees, and classes.
- Requests will be approved by the Office for Student Organizations, Leadership, & Involvement staff in a timely manner.
- Priority will be given to workshop requests that have attendees of 12 or more.
- The requesting group is responsible for providing space and accommodations unless otherwise specified.
